FEEST youth leaders from different grades, schools, and backgrounds spent the last weeks of summer at our food justice summer camp to get ready for the school year. We had some really powerful conversations about race, gender, displacement, food access, and systemic oppression to ground us in our work.
But the best part of camp is always the close bonds people form with each other. We took risks, stretched our thinking, and supported each other in the process. Many friendships were born, and the folks who walked in shy left with confidence. The FEEST fam is full of love all around.
School started for everyone last week, and youth leaders are so excited to work together, share meals, build community on campus, and organize for better school food. Dinners at all schools will be starting up at the end of the month.
Here’s to another successful year!
