Right now, Student Organizers across South Seattle and South King County are building something powerful.

As Student Organizer Eva shared, community organizing is about “everybody coming together to start something big.”

That’s exactly what’s happening here.

Students are organizing for food that nourishes them and reflects who they are. They’re organizing for improved mental health resources, and seeing the intersections between both. Overall, they’re organizing to turn schools into spaces where all students have what they need to thrive, in school and in life. 

And this spring, we’re inviting you into this work.

So, what’s in the Bag?

Every month, FEEST provides meal kits to our youth, packed into brown paper bags.

It might look simple. 

But inside, it holds:

• Fresh ingredients sourced through local partnerships
• Culturally relevant recipes students bring into their own kitchens
• Skills built through cooking, sharing, and learning together
• The leadership and vision of young people organizing for change

Each meal kit is a small snapshot of something much bigger. A community rooted in care, connection, and collective action.  

Our Goal

We’re working to raise $35,000 by May 31st from 75 donors, to sustain and grow our Student Organizer program and support their leadership and organizing. 

Every gift helps us fill the next round of bags and keep this youth-led work going.

At FEEST, we’re also working on something new.

It’s rooted in the same recipes, stories, and shared meals and moments that make our program what it is. And later in the Spring Donation Drive, we’ll be inviting you to take part in it in a more hands-on way.
