Sitting in the uncharacteristic 100 degree Seattle day on the back of a metro bus sitting in standstill traffic downtown, I wasn’t sure if my 1 1/2 hour trip to Youngstown would be worth it. If I had known what I was getting into I would have waited. Seeing strangers tuck in some of the best food I have ever eaten together brought me a mouthful of hope for the possibility to create community in places like this. Some good people taught me that eating with people and sharing a bit of your life with them is one of the most revolutionary acts one can commit in our society, and that rings tonite.
